A playful 3-dimensional take of a stained glass window. The varying church like hues of colour forming a convex dome of handmade butterflies.
Each butterfly is printed on a mix of metallic, iridescent paper types, the wings of the butterflies have been digitally worked into to reveal hidden ghoulish figures, adding another dimension of the macabre.
The piece uses 13 types of butterflies with colours altered to achieve the contrast and balance required to give its ‘Divine’ qualities.
The frame is made from beech wood, finished in a matt black sprayed paint with a returned edge of 75mm and a front edge of 15mm with gold leaf
