Limited Edition – 1 of 5 – 500mm x 500mm

A composition of both typographic art and a mix of handmade butterfly types. This series of artworks developing on from the abstract colour-inspired song titles of ‘Being Blue Eyes’ and ‘Blue in Green’ in my last music-themed artworks.

I have chosen another old classic of Whole Lotta Love (Led Zeppelin), an absolute banger of a tune with a throbbing rhythm and pulsating guitar riff. The meaning of the song in no uncertain terms, about the love and lust. Butterflies became an obsession for guitarist Jimmy Page in the early part of his career, later naming a room at his famous Tower House in Kensington the ‘Butterfly Room’.

The butterflies dancing and fluttering within and around the more literal 3 Dimensional song title.

The typography is rendered in powder blue acrylic paint and pinned off the surface, giving the sense of the text floating amongst the butterflies.
