This piece was an original commission for a client wishing to create a unique birthday gift for his wife. The client and I worked together to create a story that represented his wife’s life.
Taking places she had lived as inspiration, we selected two species of butterfly; the Chequered White and the Blue Adonis, which are found in California and the English South Downs respectively. The colours of these butterflies compliment each other beautifully.
