‘Flamboyance’ illustrates over 850 flamingos gathering to feed – another amazing spectacle of the natural world.
A sea of bright pink on lakes across some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes provides a fantastic opportunity to realise this artistically. Thousands upon thousands of flamingos congregate to feed upon algae which gives them their famed bright pink plumage. Naturally formed patterns occur when viewing the flamingos from all angles which lend themselves well as graphic compositions.

The reflective copper colour of the metallic card used is a nod to the hot pink of the feathers and captures a movement when the light hits the surface – the picture shimmers when viewing at a moving pace and takes on the ambient colours of environment. Each flamingo is stamped out of the card in a number of varying poses, then positioned in place with pins.
